To book a club dinghy, there is a diary in the upstairs saloon.
The club has a number of sailing dinghies for member's use. Non members can accompany members on these craft, but for insurance reasons, a member must be aboard. Currently there is no charge for the use of these boats. We do ask that you treat them with care, and if you are able, make good any damage.
RULES & BOOKING
They may be sailed or raced by any full adult member excluding social members. The helm must have suitable experience, either RYA level 2 + or equivalent from time spent sailing. Cadets may sail the boat during organised club cadet sailing with a dedicated support boat. Experienced cadets may join in club races but only if agreed with the support boat crew for that day. Club third party insurance covers up to ten boats on the water at any time, do not exceed this number.
Before sailing any club boats for the first time, contact the bosun for that boat to learn about any unique rigging aspects. After use, a report on the condition of the boat MUST be sent to the bosun. Contact can be by any means. The bosun names can be found on the online booking system.
The Fusions are ideal for lighter sailors and cadets, but can also be sailed by larger people. These are used for cadet sailing and the club match racing event. They are also available for casual use and racing when not being used by the cadets.
The Topaz is ideal for a heavier helm or an adult / child combination.
The Wanderer dinghies could be described as a small Wayfarer and is ideal for tuition.
The Feva is intended for two younger sailors but could be sailed with a small adult and child.
After using the boats please:
Ensure that sails are rolled, dry and stored back in the sail shed.
Boats are tied down adequately for any strong winds that may occur.
A report is sent to the bosun.

Leigh-on-Sea Sailing Club is on the northern shore of the Thames Estuary.
The club has a busy programme of dinghy racing and cruiser sailing events.
LSC has very active fleets of solo and Enterprise dinghy sailors and hosts open meetings for both classes. These dinghies are joined by many other classes and the club has a number of dinghies for newer members to sail as they decide on which dinghy is right for them. The club offers members waterside storage of their boats on our racks with well-maintained slipways. Please see the calendar for upcoming racing dates.
Cruiser members in the club are active and successful in the local Combined Cruising Series of races to ports in the East of England. The club holds a number of cruises and LSC races annually and newer members can find opportunities to crew with experienced skippers on a day sail or a weekend voyage. The club offers members moorings close to the clubhouse and tender storage on our racks at the waterside. See calendar for CCS and cruising dates.
Leigh Sailing Club Cadets aged 8 and over meet weekly throughout the year with sailing in the season and learning the ropes and social time in the off season. More information on the cadet page of this site.
The club house has panoramic views across the Thames estuary and offers a beautiful setting for our many social events, where members can relax after sailing or meet to plan and share their love of all things sailing. The club welcomes new members, who can send an email or drop into the club on a Friday evening or Sunday afternoon when the bar is open and members can answer questions about our club.
